As evening washes in from behind the island, you stand next to your
lover watching the last shards of a warm red sun slip below the horizon.  
Just before the last sliver of light gives way your eye is drawn to a ripple
in the now calm bay as a fish jumps for an evening treat.
It is December 31st, 2011.

The trip was enjoyable. With a non-stop flight on Friday from the
mainland to a nearby island and a leisurely connection on an intimate
ferry, you arrived in Virgin Gorda mid-afternoon Friday, greeted by
a tropical breeze and balmy 75 degree temperatures.  

Christopher Columbus named her the "fat virgin" and after spending the
day exploring the lush, swollen landscape covering just over eight square
miles, you are ready to concede his point with a smile. You visited The
Baths, where huge granite boulders create mysterious grottos, the
saltwater pools and connecting trails enticed you to spend the day
exploring, but soon you slipped away to find one of the dozen deserted,
pristine beaches that rim the island.

Tomorrow holds promise of a New Year and a legendary massage at
Little Dix Resort; but that is tomorrow.

Hand-in-hand you turn and walk quietly up the dock towards the party
where another erotic masterpiece awaits.
